IDAHO BLACK BEAR HUNTS. Hunting with outfitter Shane McAfee. Guided Idaho bear hunts. Idaho black bear hunting with outfitter Shane McAfee. Fully guided black bear hunts. Black bear hunting with professional guides at Castle Creek Outfitters.

Hunters, Welcome to our Castle Creek Outfitters Bear hunt page. Castle Creek Outfitters offers Trophy Spring Black Bear hunts in May and June each year. Our Spring baits are put out in April and Hunters are taken in May and June. Hunters are fed meals from our Deluxe Tent Camps where we will guide you on horseback into the Salmon and Challis National Forest's. During the day you will check baits with your guide. Hunting is done over the baits in the evening when the wind is right. 90% of our spring bear are taken in the evening.

Due to the remote area that we hunt, large boars are taken every year. Most will square 6 feet or better and some taken aged up to 15 years old. Most will make the SCI Record book. In our Salmon River country 75 -- 80% of the Black Bears we harvest are cinnamon color. Most hunters prefer this. This is a excellent chance to harvest a bear of this color. We limit the number of hunters we take in the spring and fall seasons. As a result of this we have had a 95 - 100% success rate on these hunts over the last thirty five years. We prefer hunters with a Trophy size boar in mind and will do our best to succeed in harvesting one for you.

On the Fall hunts we ride and hunt the creek bottoms as berries and Chinook Salmon (spawning) are the main diet of the bears at this time. The Salmon are great protein for the bears and give them more size than bears that don't eat salmon. Our hunt area has Salmon. Some baits will be used in the fall, but creeks are the best bet at this time of year.

YOUTH - SENIOR - MILITARY & VETERAN - DISCOUNTS

Castle Creek also offers Special Discounts for Youth, Senior citizens, Veterans and Disabled Hunters on our bear hunts. Contact us for Discount information on these Special hunts.

Remember:
1. We limit the number of hunters we take yearly.
2. We manage for Trophy bear.
3.We hunt the prime times, spring and fall.
4. Less hunters = more and bigger bears.
5. Most make SCI book.
6. Chinook Salmon in our outfitting area = bigger bear.

We think of our bear as a Big Game Trophy Animal and manage our area for them. Our prices reflect this. Most outfitters charge 1/3 of what we do and take far too many hunters. We charge more for our bear hunts, but we all know you get what you pay for. I have heard far too many hunters stories about cheap hunts and cheap outfitters. We charge more, but limit the number of bear hunters we take each year. This makes a better area for you to hunt and give's you a better chance for a Trophy animal. We don't write short stories about every bear we kill, we just kill bear. This is our job. We have plenty of references on request. If you are a true Trophy hunter seeking a Record Book Black Bear, give us a call or send us a E-mail on this limited opportunity. I will get back to you as soon as I can and talk to you personally about our hunts.

Thanks and Happy Hunting,

owner/outfitter/guide of Castle Creek Outfitters.
